Hi, I am Greg Elrod.

I am the founder and owner of Soot Busters Chimney Services. We are locally owned and operated in North Georgia and service the Northwest Georgia area.

I realize that most service companies do not tell you who will be coming to your home when you book an appointment with them. And many will often give a time window which has you wondering when they will finally arrive at your home. I have personally dealt with companies like this and it is very frustrating. I am the technician who comes to your home and we will set a specific time for your appointment so you do not have to take your entire day waiting for me to arrive. I mention these issues because I hear this from most of my customers regarding some service companies they have dealt with previously. Customer service is absolutely the number one focus for me and my business.

I began sweeping and repairing chimneys in Atlanta Georgia in 1996.

I have gained extensive knowledge of chimneys, venting systems, and dryer vents, with over 24 years of experience being a full time chimney sweep..

I became a chimney and dryer vent service professional primarily from seeing a massive need for these particular services. And there were not enough sweeps to meet the large demand for the seemingly endless number of chimneys and dryer vents that require cleaning and often are in need of repairs due to excessive use, weather, age, and construction defects.

It still surprises me how many homeowners currently use their fireplaces and especially dryers without ever having them inspected, swept, and cleaned. Most customers I talk with do not have much knowledge regarding chimneys or dryer vents. I enjoy working with homeowners and educating them on how they can use these important appliances as safely as possible.
